The Canadian SKA Scientist Program invites applications for up to two fixed-term positions (up to 5 years) at Canadian universities in 2027. These positions offer early-career researchers the chance to lead independent research at the forefront of astrophysics while contributing directly to science with the SKA, the world’s largest radio telescope project, poised to transform our understanding of the Universe, fundamental physics, and the search for life beyond Earth.
Canadian SKA Scientists form a network of experts across Canada, supporting the broader community to use SKA and its pathfinders to advance discovery through innovative instrumentation, technology, and research.
Applications are due no later than 11:59 pm PT on Friday, November 6, 2026, with appointments beginning before December 31, 2027.
The program is managed by the NRC’s Herzberg Astronomy and Astrophysics Research Centre and is strongly committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
