In order to encourage students and PDF members to attend our annual meeting and present
papers, the Society offers each year a number of small travel grants to
contribute to the travel expenses of students and PDF members attending the meeting.
The Society provides the Local Organizing Committee of the annual
meeting with the travel funds. Students and PDF members who want to apply for a travel
grant need to communicate with the Chair of the LOC. The call for
application is normally included in the preliminary announcement of the
annual meeting which is distributed to members about two to three
months before the meeting.
Student travel grants were first offered in 1998, while PDF grants were
first offered in 2011. The amount given
to each student and PDF depends on the distance between his/her home
institution and the meeting.
