Congratulations to John Percy - the
2003 Northrop Frye Award winner.
It is with great pleasure that we pass along the message that
John Percy has been awarded the Northrop Frye award by the
University of Toronto.
Each year, one individual faculty member and one department or division
at University of Toronto
are recognized with a Northrop Frye Award for demonstrating
exemplary and innovative ways of linking teaching and research.
John is one of our most respected teachers and researchers and most
worthy of this University distinction. Over the past 18
years, John has supervised over 120 M.Sc. Ph.D.,
undergraduate and high school students and
Post-doctoral fellows. His research publication record is extensive and
he has authored or edited a dozen books.
John is universally recognized as one of University of Toronto
Mississauga's (Erindale) most outspoken proponents
of science education. He works tirelessly on the local, national and
international levels, helping to promote science in general and astronomy
to students of all ages.
