These are exciting times - CSA announces funding for Canada's
first all-Canadian
astronomical satellite - the primary mirror for Gemini
North arrived safely at Kawaihae last week with first
light still expected before the end of this year -
FUSE is now open for proposals - SCUBA is demonstrating
its power on JCMT - and the Radio Astronomers are picking up
the pace in their discussions of future projects.

previous, editions of Cassiopeia.

C'est la fête! - CSA vient d'annoncer le financement pour un satellite astronomique
entièrement fait au Canada - la semaine dernière le mirroir primaire pour Gemini nord
arrivait à Kawaihae et on s'attend à la première lumière avant la fin de l'année
- FUSE est prêt et attend vos propositions - SCUBA se fait fort sur JCMT - les
radio-astronomes font de bons progrès en ce qui concerne leur débat sur des
projets à venir. Veuillez vous informer là-dessus dans cette deuxième édition de
Cassiopeia et l'édition précédente.

Above all, we urge CASCA members to treat Cassiopeia for what it is - a
NEWS LETTER - not a Web-site - and to start generating letters for our
correspondance column - there are surely many major concerns to open up
for discussion. Also, please keep us up to date in the `What's New'
page - there is genuine widespread interest in comings and goings at
the various astronomical institutions across the country. The status
quo is properly dealt with in the WEB pages of each organisation.

une revue informative et pas un
site Web, ainsi qu'un moteur afin de stimuler une
correspondance parmi nos collègues qui ont des
intérêts en commun.
Veuillez aussi nous informer des va-et-viens aux institutions
astronomiques à travers le pays.

chaque institution.

of their articles, if they can. While we can provide html templates, we
